Junior Youth Orchestra 2016

Junior Youth Orchestra

The City of Hull Junior Youth Orchestra is joined by the Beverley Male Voice Choir to provide a musical backing to the CIPD Humber Branch Conference ‘Working in Harmony’.

At Transforming the Humber 2016 one of our speakers reminded us that employees have a life outside of work. Our proposition is that an employer can engage with the whole person and support them in their life beyond the workplace.

More importantly you will hear why engagement with your employees in cultural activities has hidden benefits. It isn’t hard to do. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

2017. A great year for Hull as UK City of Culture. In the spirit of Hull 2017, our Transforming the Humber Conference for 2017 takes a different look at how engagement in cultural activities has benefits for both employers and employees. Our vehicle will be music but culture encompasses everything from the arts to sports and an age spectrum from youth to retirement.

You may recall the BBC series Maestro, where celebrities got to conduct a symphony orchestra. We all recognise the work of Gareth Malone to create workplace choirs and the Military Wives Choir.

We are delighted to have the support of the Hull City Junior Youth Orchestra and the Beverley Male Voice Choir. Together you will have your first lesson in conducting and may get the chance to conduct the orchestra. You the audience will become a choir. Together we will illustrate how participation develops skills and talents people can bring to their employment and adds to employee well-being.

Book early for our popular FREE Transforming the Humber 2017 event. More details to follow.

Who should attend?

This conference is ideal for members of the HR and business communities who have an interest in retaining and developing a skilled workforce
