The Hull Philharmonic Orchestra has a long and successful partnership with the Hull Music Service. It holds its rehearsals at the Albemarle Music Centre, thereby making a strong financial contribution to the Music Service. It shares equipment and a music library both there and at City Hall and encourages young musicians and Music Staff to join the Phil, an amateur community orchestra now in its 133rd year.
For those young musicians who do not join the orchestra to play, there is an enlightened free ticket scheme which enables students to attend each of the three concerts a year at no charge.
