Violin Workshop

Have a go at playing the violin, for anyone who feels they missed the chance to play or want to experience the fun their kids get up to at school and the Albemarle music centre. This fun workshop will get you started with the basics, you’ll play along to some great pop and film tunes.

What Does Hull Sound Like?

What does Hull sound like?  If Hull were a song, what would it be? 

Come and join composer and vocal leader Michael Betteridge to explore a series of new songs created especially for, and with, the people of Hull. Each workshop will feature an hour of composing new songs inspired by audio recordings of Hullensians, as well as the opportunity to learn these songs as a choir, all in an informal environment.

Community Steel Pans

Join Hull Music Hub’s Community Steel Pan group and have a go at playing the Steel Pans. They’ll be making some wonderful sounds from 10am outside the Albemarle Music Centre.  No need to book, just come along and join in.

Folk Workshop

An introduction to folk music by Ellie Gaynard (fiddle) and George Boomsma (singer and guitarist) – come along and learn a traditional style tune and a song in this informal workshop setting.

All ages welcome, for instrumentalist with enough knowledge of their instrument to get around in G, D and A major.
