Whole Class Ensemble Teaching WCET

Through WCET (also known as wider opportunities or first access), pupils learn to play a musical instrument through our 33 week programme. The programme can be devised to cover the national curriculum for music and includes;

  • Rehearsing and performing
  • Improvising and composing
  • Recording ideas through audio, video and a range of notations
  • Singing
  • Listening and understanding
  • Wellbeing, social, emotional and cultural

Our programme will support your long term music plan as well as linking with curriculum areas for the class we are working with. Pupils can perform alongside schools from across the city in the summer term Sing and Play Festival.

We offer whole class lessons on:

  • Strings – violin and cello
  • Brass – PBuzz, trumpets or mixed brass
  • Woodwind – recorder or clarinet
  • Percussion – glockenspiel, samba or steel pans
We can deliver Arts Award Discover or Explore through this programme.
