We were back at Maybury Primary School this week for our second East Hull Brass Project rehearsal, with the same group of 38 pupils from all across the East side of Hull. It was great to see everyone again, and the improvement in just a short time has been brilliant.
Children from Alderman Cogan, Highlands, Marfleet, Maybury, Neasden, and Woodland schools continued working on “Shotgun” by George Ezra,” and we even added some singing this time, which the group really enjoyed. We also revisited “Rocket Ship” and “Little Bird,” and started a brand new piece called “Xmas Time.” The band is becoming more confident with each rehearsal.
Once again, all the pupils represented their schools superbly and brought a really positive atmosphere to the session. It’s been fantastic watching them grow as a group and support one another.
Thank you to all the schools, staff, and children involved — your commitment is what makes the project such a success.
Details for the next rehearsals will be announced soon. We are already looking forward to it.
