A free concert of string music (with a bit of support from the Junior Youth Orchestra’s woodwind, brass and percussion sections!) featuring the Music Service’s Elementary Strings, Training Strings and Junior Youth Orchestra.
The performance will show the progression of our string ensembles which starts with our youngest group, Elementary Strings – mostly primary school pupils who are starting on their path to develop their early ensemble playing; the Training Strings – a mix of primary and secondary pupils who have the ESO experience and work on more demanding pieces; the Junior Youth Orchestra – secondary pupils with the ESO and TSO experiences who work on symphonic pieces with their brass, percussion and woodwind colleagues.
The grand finale to the evening will have all three groups performing Jacques Offenbach’s The Can-Can together!
